VILLA RENOVATION

A triumph of logistics and client and designer collaboration, this home renovation in Perth was completed through the period of Covid lockdown while the family was living in Saudi Arabia.

After engaging me to renovate this villa in Perth, this very patient family had to wait out the worst stages of the pandemic, with the children finishing their final year of school and starting unitversity online.

It was a very happy ending when they were finally able to take up residence. I feel very proud our company was able to help them by providing a home fully ready to move in and get on with their lives.

The subway tiles from Craft Decor were also used to update the kitchen,  Here they are a deeper teal blue'/green and are complemented by the addition of an solid timber American Oak ledge shelf.

Opening onto a west facing courtyard, the living room was given protection with full block out blinds.  Privacy and softness is provided by W fold sheers from Freedom Furniture.

My client bought light fittings and furniture online and we were able to supervise delivery and assemble as required. Carpet Court’s Dreamtime in colour Waddy gave a soft natural feel to the bedrooms.

In the laundry, a space less than 3 metres square, we fitted a deep trough, built in cupboards, a sky blue subway tiled splashback and a space to fold the laundry. The outer door leads to the garage where the dryer is installed.

All the original taps and power points were moved before the cabinets were installed to allow for an open benchtop space.  This required the plumber, electrician and carpenter to give as much thought to this space as a large family sized laundry.

The tub from Sink Warehouse was chosen for its slimline design and the included tap hole, which protects the timber benchtop from excess water runoff.
